Genome Project and the human species

Through the Genome Project, science has proven that even with the physical differences between people, the human species is unique.

Recently, in the year 2003, some scientists traced the genetic sequencing of 94% of human DNA, in the so-called Genome Project. It was proved, then, the non-existence of human races, contrary to what many claimed in the past, with racial theories (Evolutionism and Social Darwinism).

The physical differences between humans are immense, but science has proven, through the Genome Project, that even with the physical differences between people, the human species is unique. So it doesn't matter if your skin is black, white, brown; if your eyes are rounded or slanted; whether your hair is straight, curly, black or blonde – we are all part of the same species.

The physical differences found between human beings, in relation to skin color and eye color, result from the evolutionary process of human beings facing the need to adapt to the environmental conditions in which lived.

The scientists of the Genome Project claim that the curly hair characteristic (usually) of the black population emerged as a way to protect the scalp of individuals who lived in regions with hot climates. Genome scientists also claim that the different skin colors stem from the process of natural selection that has taken place over thousands of years.

In this way, the physical differences between people were markedly built over thousands of years by the process of natural selection and governed by the climatic and environmental conditions of different regions of the world. As noted in the project, the genetic differences between two individuals do not reach 1%, so there are no human races, but a single human race.
