With the coming to power of the Nazi party in 1933, one of the first tasks that had to be carried out was the minds of the population. To this end, Joseph Goebbels was commissioned to create a propaganda ministry from scratch. The work was huge, but it was carried out with great success.
Drawing inspiration from the Soviet Union's ministry of public education, Goebbels created an administrative structure that enabled him to reach the homes and minds of the entire German population. Among his great milestones is the manufacture of the Volksempfanger, some small cheap and affordable radios in the pocket of everyone or the live broadcast on television of the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
Goebbels never left Hitler aside. He and his family were in the chancellery bunker during the last days of the regime. The Reich Propaganda Minister committed suicide along with his wife and his 6 children hours before the Russians arrived at the bunker where they were.
