What is the longest labor strike in history?

The longest known labor strike in history was the Flint Sit-Down Strike, which lasted from December 30, 1936 to February 11, 1937. The strike involved over 40,000 workers from the General Motors Corporation's plants in Flint, Michigan, and it was led by the United Auto Workers (UAW) union. The strikers occupied the GM plants, preventing the company from operating them. The strike ended after GM agreed to recognize the UAW as the bargaining representative for its workers and to improve wages and working conditions.
