Why is there an upside down capital M but not W?

There is actually an upside-down W, it is called a double U or

"Wau" and it comes from Early Phoenician letters circa 5th–12th Century B.C.E . Phoenicia is what we now know as the nation of Lebanon. The upside-down "M" is called "Nu" and looks like this: upside-down lower-case y which can be found in early Greek symbols dating back between the centuries of 3200-0 B.C.E
