What were Tweleve Tables?

The Twelve Tables were a set of ancient Roman laws that were inscribed on twelve bronze tablets and displayed in the Roman Forum. They were created in 450 BC in response to the demand of the plebeian class for a written code of law. The Twelve Tables were the foundation of Roman law and covered a wide range of topics, including property rights, criminal law, procedure, and family law. They were also influenced by the laws of other Mediterranean cultures, such as Greece.
