archaeological essence

The survey team of the Office of Archeology and National Museum 1, Ratchaburi (1997 :84-85) found artifacts from Ban Khok Sethi Archaeological Site. as follows

Pottery fragments Found in large quantities, mostly soil containers. (Earthenware) has both smooth surface and decorated with rope pattern and soil water. The shape of the container is a colorful container in Dvaravati culture. In addition, fragments of glazed earthenware produced from the Si Satchanalai kiln were also found.

Beads Rarely found were blue and red glass beads. But from the stories of the villagers found in large quantities. and that the villagers kept Most of them are glass beads. There are many colors such as blue, green, blue, clear white, etc.

Brick found a small amount It is a brick with a lot of rice husk mixture. Similar to bricks in Dvaravati culture.

According to the villagers (Office of Archeology and National Museum No. 1, Ratchaburi 1997 :85), 300 meters south of this area. There is a mound where a lot of antiques such as beads and pottery fragments were found. But now there is no evidence left because the area has been plowed and adjusted to build houses.

Preliminary data from the survey make it assumed that this archaeological site. It is probably a coastal community in Dvaravati culture. And it is related to Thung Setthi Chedi, who may have built and used this ancient site, however, evidence is constantly being destroyed. because the houses of the community are currently densely located.
