Wat Suwan Khiri Wihan (Wat Na Mueang) is an ordinary third-class royal monastery. Affiliated with Maha Nikaya Built in 1890 By the royal initiative of His Majesty King Chulalongkorn.

Suwan Khiri Wihan Temple Known as “the first temple of Ranong”, it was originally located in the area of ​​Som Pan Beach near Ranong Provincial Stadium. "Wat Suwan Khiri Tharam" (There is no clear history of when it was built, it is assumed that it was built around 1877-1890), but later suffered a disaster in which the sand and water from the northern mountains at the tin mine, which is turbid, including the sand dregs, flooded over the temple area, resulting in a large number of monks Monks and novices can't remember the temple. Therefore, it became an abandoned temple.

Later, in 1890 (R.E. 109), His Majesty King Chulalongkorn came to visit cities on the west coast. His Highness saw that Wat Suwan Khiri was an abandoned temple due to natural disasters. to Phraya Rattana Sethi (Kho Sim Kong Na Ranong), the governor of Ranong Continue to build Wat Suwan Khiri on Chat Chalerm Road instead.

His Majesty King Chulalongkorn graciously ordered the monks to recite the Phatthasee from Wat Suwan Khiri Tharam to bind Phatthasima in this monastery. and was given the name "Wat Suwan Khiri Wihan", as evidenced by documents that appear in the Royal Command Issue dated October 2, R.S. 113 (B.E. 1894), but the villagers popularly called it "Wat Na Mueang"

Wat Suwan Khiri Wihan received Wisung Kham Sima on October 22 1894 Wisung Khamsima District It is 17 meters wide, 29 meters long and has been declared a historical site registration and boundaries of ancient sites, Volume 118, Special Section 33 N, on April 9, 2001.

Most of the architecture in the temple is Burmese art with some Thai and Chinese art mixed in. Important buildings within the temple are the chedi and the pavilion.

Monk Dadu Pagoda It is characterized by Burmese architecture style. It is a round chedi raised from the floor about 80 centimeters high, located on an octagonal base from the base to the top of a tiered tier about 13 meters high, with a courtyard and a wall surrounded on all four sides. The walls are high solid cement walls. About 1 meter on each side of the wall is a doorway about 2 meters wide, the base of the pagoda and the walls are plastered with white paint. The pagoda body and top are gold, while the tiered chedi is made of brass and decorated with colored stones in Burmese architecture.

The creator of the Dathu Pagoda was Mrs. Pua Saikai, her husband named U Aume. which is an astrologer in the royal court of Burma Later immigrated to Ranong Province, now his descendants, including Burmese Buddhists who have migrated from Burma, will always help clean and restore the condition.
