History of North America

30th President Calvin Coolidge

Personally, I have very little impression about Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President of the United States.

Calvin Coolidge before becoming president

Coolidge was born on July 4, 1872, Vermont, on National Foundation Day of the United States. He studied at Amherst College in Massachusetts, and after graduating he worked as a lawyer in Massachusetts, was elected a city council member in Northampton, Massachusetts in 1899, and became a state council member from 1907.

He became the mayor of Northern Pton from 1910, again a member of the state legislature from 1912, and the governor from 1919.

When Warren Harding became president, he became Vice President, and Coolidge became the 30th President of the United States when Harding died of a stroke in 1923.

30th President of the United States

Coolidge was inconspicuous as Vice President, but also inconspicuous as President. What did Calvin Coolidge do? How many people can answer this question immediately?

Perhaps his greatest achievement was in 1924 when he was the first president to give a radio speech from the White House.

The next immigration law to Japan was enacted in the Coolridge era.

During this period, what the whites were most wary of was not the growth of the socialist government, but the growth of the yellow humans.

Shortly before this, Germany's Wilhelm II preached the "Yellow Peril" in a big way.

This is an allegation that the Yellow race causes turmoil in the world, and historically Europe has been invaded by the Huns, the Hungarians, and the Mongol Empire, and there was a threat to Mongoloid at some genetic level. You can say that.

Especially in white society, the existence of Japan, which is neither a Caucasian nor a Christian, was unforgivable above all. The rulers of the world must be Christians who follow God and must be Caucasian.

Mongoloid should be eliminated.

Such hate crystals were the Exclusion Act.

In fact, Coolridge itself was against this immigration regulation, but he said he couldn't stand the pressure of Congress and signed it.

Thus Coolridge did nothing during his tenure. The Americans didn't particularly ask Coolidge for anything. Because the country prospered without Coolridge doing anything. America was booming forever. He seemed to never end.

No one thought that the countdown to ruin had begun.

The collapse was just around the corner.

By the way, Coolidge died in 1933. He was 60 years old.
