Isabella of France(1292 - 1358)

Isabelle of France is the daughter of the King of France Philippe IV le Bel and Queen Jeanne Ière of Navarre and nicknamed the Wolf of France for her particularly violent temper. In 1308 she married King Edward II of England. Four children are from the marriage although the king has a reputation as a homosexual. With her lover Roger Mortimer, she leads to the deposition of Edward II and the accession of their son Edward III. Isabelle and Mortimer ruled as regents. But when Edward III came of age, he had Mortimer executed and Isabella exiled to Rising Castle in Norfolk where she died. She is also famous for discovering the adultery of her sisters-in-law in the Nesle tower affair. Isabelle is also the famous queen of the movie "Braveheart", played by Sophie Marceau.
