Who won the battle of edghill?

The Battle of Edgehill was a battle of the First English Civil War, fought on Sunday, 23 October 1642, at Edgehill in Warwickshire, England. It was the first important clash of arms between the supporters of King Charles I and the forces of the English Parliament.

The battle was inconclusive, with both sides claiming victory. However, the Royalists gained some strategic advantages, as they were able to capture Banbury and Oxford, and to establish a line of communication between their forces in Wales and those in the north of England.

In terms of casualties, the Royalists suffered about 4,000 dead, while the Parliamentarians lost about 5,000.
