What was invented first fire or the wheel?

The question of whether fire or the wheel came first is a matter of debate and discussion.

Fire was discovered much earlier than the wheel during prehistoric times. There are archaeological and anthropological evidences and studies suggesting the controlled use of fire by early hominins date back millions of years. The understanding and harnessing of fire in early societies revolutionized human existence, enabling warmth, cooking, protection, and improved living conditions.

On the other hand, the invention of the wheel in its basic form is generally traced back to ancient Mesopotamia and the region of today's Iraq around 3500 BC. Evidence suggests the use of wheeled vehicles for transportation and carrying loads. The invention of the wheel had profound impacts on transportation, trade, technology, and warfare.

Therefore, based on current archaeological findings, it is believed that fire significantly preceded the invention of the wheel in human history.
