Trajan's conquests began in 101 AD when he invaded Arabia Petraea and annexed the province of Nabataea. He then turned his attention to Dacia (modern-day Romania), which he conquered after two campaigns in 105 and 106 AD. In 114 AD, Trajan invaded Armenia and made it a Roman province. His final and most famous conquest was that of Parthia, which he invaded in 115 AD and sacked its capital city, Ctesiphon. Trajan's conquests allowed the Roman Empire to reach its greatest territorial extent and created a prosperous and stable empire that would last for another two centuries.
