Where were immigrants between 1870-1900 mostly from?

Between 1870 and 1900, the United States saw a massive wave of immigration. During this period, the vast majority of immigrants arrived from southern and eastern Europe, including regions such as Italy, Poland, Russia, Austria-Hungary, and other southeastern European countries. In particular, Italian and Polish immigrants comprised large proportions of arrivals during this time. In contrast, the influx of immigrants from northern and western Europe, which had been prominent in earlier decades, declined significantly. Overall, this period marked a noticeable shift in the origins of immigrants coming to the U.S.
