The military history It is experiencing a significant boom, as evidenced by the growing number of publications and events that involve both civil society and academia. A central aspect of military history is battle . In the fact of weapons, they converge in different planes and levels of historical reality, in addition to very diverse processes and agents. The clash on the battlefield between the armies of the Hispanic Monarchy and their enemies was nothing more than the culmination in which all the political, diplomatic and strategic decision-making processes converged, as well as technological innovation and the mobilization of human and material resources. . The application of all these processes was nothing more than the implementation of the effectiveness of the Monarchy, embodied in its most radical manifestation:the battle. The difficulty of approaching the battle as the protagonist of the story, gives it enormous appeal due to its immense possibilities. At the same time, the public demands military history, and associates the concept of battle from the epic and the appeal of the aura of the heroic:we understand the battle as the quintessence of History. Therefore, based on the great historiographical and informative possibilities offered by the battle as a subject, this congress takes the battle as a historiographical problem and solution, bringing together professionals from the academic and publishing worlds, with the aim of renewing and disseminating military history.
