Who was ancient Rome before the republic?

Ancient Rome before the republic was known as the Kingdom of Rome, which lasted from the 8th century BCE until the 6th century BCE. During this period, Rome was ruled by a series of kings, who were elected by the Roman Senate. The kings had absolute power and were responsible for making laws, leading the army, and administering justice. The Kingdom of Rome was eventually overthrown by a group of powerful Roman nobles, who established the Roman Republic in 509 BCE.
