How is Aphrodite remembered?

Aphrodite is remembered as the Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, procreation, and fertility. She is one of the twelve Olympian gods and goddesses, often represented by doves, roses, myrtle, apples, pomegranates, bees, and swans. As the protector of sailors, she holds dominion over the sea. In Roman mythology, her Roman equivalent is Venus. Today, her legacy lives on in various art forms, sculptures, statues, classical paintings, frescoes, and contemporary artwork that depict scenes inspired by her legendary narratives. Additionally, Aphrodite features in a vast body of classic Greek and Roman literature.
