Ancient history

Why were weels first invented?

Wheels were first invented to reduce friction between a moving object and the ground.

When an object is pulled or pushed along the ground, the force of friction between the two surfaces opposes the motion and slows the object down. By placing wheels beneath the object, the weight is distributed over a larger area, which reduces the pressure on the ground and therefore the force of friction. This allows the object to move more easily and with less effort.
