What happened to the king of Egypt after Israelites fled?

After the Israelites fled from Egypt, the Bible recounts that God brought a series of ten devastating plagues upon Egypt. These plagues culminated in the tenth and most severe one — the death of the firstborn Egyptians, including the son of the Pharaoh himself.

In response to this calamity, the Pharaoh finally relented and ordered the Israelites to leave Egypt immediately. As the Israelites were departing, Moses and the people witnessed a dramatic parting of the Red Sea that allowed them safe passage on dry ground. However, when the Pharaoh's army attempted to pursue them through the divided sea, the waters came crashing down upon them, resulting in their defeat and drowning.

So, after the Israelites fled from Egypt, the Pharaoh witnessed not only the devastating impact of the plagues but also a miraculous demonstration of God's intervention on behalf of the Israelites. The Bible portrays this series of events as a powerful judgment against Egypt and its defiant ruler for attempting to enslave and oppress the Hebrew people.
