What did the boys wear in ancient Egypt?

Boys in ancient Egypt typically went without clothing until the age of 12. After this age, they would wear a linen garment similar to a belted dress. It is known as a shendyt, and it was held in place by a strip of cloth and could be pleated or fringed at the bottom. Children had less rigid fashion rules and were known to wear jewelry and accessories like beads and necklaces made from natural resources like shells, wood, and flowers.
