What did the emperors not like about republic government?

* Too much power in the hands of the Senate. Emperors felt that the Senate was too powerful and that it interfered too much in their affairs. They also believed that the Senate was corrupt and that it was not in the best interests of the people.

* Too much bureaucracy. Emperors felt that the Republic government was too bureaucratic and that it was slow to make decisions. They believed that they could be more efficient and effective by making decisions themselves.

* Too much instability. Emperors felt that the Republic government was too unstable and that it was prone to corruption and civil war. They believed that they could bring stability to the Roman Empire by establishing a strong central government.
