Francisco Pizarro, a Spanish explorer and conquistador, did go to the Inca Empire in search of legendary gold. He had heard tales of the empire's immense wealth, and he was eager to find it. In 1532, Pizarro and his men landed on the coast of Peru and began their journey inland. They faced many challenges along the way, including the harsh terrain and the resistance of the Inca people.
