What was the name of stone age people?

Stone Age people were not known by a specific collective name. The Stone Age is a broad prehistoric period characterised by the widespread use of stone tools. It is further subdivided into the Palaeolithic, Mesolithic, and Neolithic periods based on specific cultural and technological developments during those times. People living during these periods had diverse origins and cultures and lacked a singular or unifying name. They would have belonged to various distinct populations of early humans across different regions of the world, each with its own cultural and ethnic variations.
