The Celts were an ancient people who inhabited much of Europe from the Bronze Age to the Iron Age. The Celts did not use money (coins of metals) in the same way other civilizations developed coins from gold and silver for exchange. Their economies were largely based on the barter system with the value determined and negotiated individually and there also is evidence of the value or exchange using livestock.
