Who was the first person to create power loom?

The first person to invent a power loom was Edmund Cartwright. He was born in 1743 in Nottinghamshire, England, and died in 1823. He was a clergyman and inventor who is credited with inventing the first power loom in 1785. Cartwright's power loom was a mechanized version of the traditional handloom, which was used to weave cloth.
