What did the Inca use to build empire?

Mit'a: This was a labor system in which each able-bodied male Incan was required to work for the state for a certain amount of time each year. This labor was used to build roads, bridges, temples, and other public works projects.

Quipu: This was a system of knotted strings that was used to keep records and communicate information. The quipu was used to record everything from census data to military supplies.

Chasquis: These were runners who were used to relay messages over long distances. The chasquis were able to cover long distances quickly and efficiently, thanks to a network of relay stations located along the major roads of the Inca Empire.

Terraces: The Incas used terraces to farm on steep slopes. The terraces helped to prevent soil erosion and allowed the Incas to grow crops in areas that would otherwise have been too difficult to farm.

Irrigation: The Incas built canals and aqueducts to irrigate their crops. This allowed them to grow crops in areas that were otherwise too dry to farm.

Storage Facilities: The Incas built granaries and other storage facilities to store food and supplies. This allowed them to withstand droughts and other natural disasters.

Roads: The Incas built an extensive network of roads that connected the different parts of their empire. These roads allowed the Incas to quickly and easily move troops and supplies throughout their empire.

Bridges: The Incas built bridges to cross rivers and chasms. These bridges allowed the Incas to travel and transport goods more easily.

Temples: The Incas built temples to honor their gods. These temples were often located on top of mountains or other high places.

Palaces: The Incas built palaces for their rulers. These palaces were often located in the capital city of Cuzco.
