What was the curse of Poseidon?

Poseidon is the ancient Greek god of the sea. When he was angered, it was said that he would cause storms, floods, earthquakes, and other natural disasters. He was also known to curse people who offended him. One of the most famous examples is the story of Odysseus, who was cursed by Poseidon after he blinded the Cyclops Polyphemus, Poseidon's son. Odysseus spent 10 years wandering the seas, unable to return home to Ithaca, because of Poseidon's curse.
