What does Odysseus do at the island of Aeolia?

Odysseus and his men are given a bag containing all of the winds by Aeolus, the keeper of the winds. Aeolus tells Odysseus to keep the bag tied so that only the west wind blows them home, but the men unwisely untie the bag while Odysseus sleeps, unleashing a storm that sends the ship far away from Ithaca.
