How long did it take to build the Great Pyramid?

The construction of the Great Pyramid is estimated to have taken around 20-30 years. The pyramid was built using limestone blocks, each weighing around 2.5 tons. These blocks were quarried from nearby quarries and then transported to the Giza Plateau. The blocks were then stacked on top of each other, without the use of mortar.

The pyramid was originally covered with a layer of polished limestone, which gave it a smooth, white appearance. However, over time, the limestone casing stones were removed and used for other building projects.

Which pharaoh built the Great Pyramid?

The Great Pyramid was built by the pharaoh Khufu, also known as Cheops. Khufu was the second pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt. He reigned from around 2589-2566 BC.
