When were belts invented?

Belts have been used by humans for thousands of years. The earliest evidence of belts dates back to the Bronze Age, around 3,000 BC. These early belts were made of leather and were used to hold clothing in place. Belts also served a decorative purpose, and were often adorned with metal or bone ornaments.

Over time, belts became more elaborate and were used for a variety of purposes. For example, in the Middle Ages, belts were used to carry weapons and tools. In the 19th century, belts became popular as a fashion accessory, and were often made of expensive materials such as silk or velvet.

Today, belts are still used for both practical and fashionable purposes. They come in a wide variety of styles and materials, and can be found in almost any clothing store.
