What did they do to children in colonial schools if not behave well?

Children who misbehaved in colonial schools were often subjected to corporal punishment, which could include beatings, whippings, and other forms of physical discipline. In some cases, children might also be placed in stocks or pillories, which were devices that held them in place and exposed them to public ridicule. Other punishments might include being made to stand in the corner, being deprived of food or privileges, or being forced to write out lines or do extra work.
