What size was a slaves house on plantation?

Slave houses varied greatly in size depending on the plantation and region, but they were generally small and cramped. In the early 19th century, Georgia, the average slave cabin was 16 by 20 feet, with a 10-foot shed-roofed porch. Often with dirt floors and no windows, many slave houses measured only 10 feet by 12 feet and were constructed of pine logs or split planks.
