The Achumawi people used canoes and rafts to travel on rivers and lakes. Canoes were made from hollowed-out logs, while rafts were made from bundles of reeds. Both canoes and rafts were propelled by paddles.
Snowshoes and sleds
In the winter, the Achumawi people used snowshoes and sleds to travel through snow. Snowshoes were made from wood and rawhide, while sleds were made from wood and animal skins.
Horses
After horses were introduced by Europeans, the Achumawi people began using them for transportation. Horses were used for both riding and packing.
