When did the Romans die?

It is incorrect to state that all Romans have died. The Roman Empire did disintegrate and fall at a certain point in history, leading to significant political and societal changes, but this does not signify the death of Roman individuals. Many descendants of the Roman population continued to live in the regions that were once part of the Empire, although under different geopolitical entities. Today, millions of people living in Italy and other formerly Roman territories may consider themselves or their cultural ancestors as descendants of the Romans.
