Pakistan has been the land of Sufi saints for centuries, but today's Pakistan has become a refuge for terrorists from all over the world. There the Muhajirs, Shias and Ahmadis as well as the Sufi community are also targeted by Sunni terrorist organizations. Sufis are considered infidels and idolaters in Pakistan.
All dargahs of Sufis in Pakistan are on target of terrorists. Like Ahmadis, Sufis are also not given civil rights and facilities. From 2005 to 2017, Pakistan's most dangerous terrorist organization Tehrike Taliban targeted 30 Sufi shrines, many of which are more than 100 years old.
Badi Imam Dargah in Islamabad, Haji Saheb Turangzai's Dargah in Mohammad Agency, many tombs including Abdul Shakur Baba's Dargah in Peshawar's Chamkhani, 17th century Sufi Poet Abdul Rahman Baba in Peshawar, Sakhi Sarwar Dargah in Dera Ghazi Khan, Pakpattan City Terrorist attacks have taken place on many dargahs including Sufi Dargah, Dargah of Fundu Baba in Chamkani, Dargah of Sufi Hazrat Baba Farid, Sufi Abdullah Shah Ghazi.
In these attacks a large number of Muslims who believed in Sufism were killed. Once Afghanistan was also the center of Sufi Pir Auliya and Dervishes but the Taliban wiped them all out. In February 2017, more than 100 people were killed and 250 were injured in a terrorist attack on the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar in Sindh province of Pakistan.
Earlier, 52 people were killed in the terrorist attack on Shah Noorani, the famous Sufi shrine of Balochistan province. In fact, these terrorist attacks are part of the ongoing war against the Sufis of the Wahhabi sect. In India too, Pakistani terrorists have carried out major attacks in many places including Charare Sharif Mazar and Hazrat Bal Dargah.
