The 1924 revolution is part of the tenentist movement, resulting from the Copacabana uprising, which took place on July 5, 1922, in the then capital of Brazil.
Led by General Isidoro Dias Lopes, the Revolution of 1924 took place in São Paulo. On July 5, in São Paulo, about 1000 men stayed in strategic locations, the objective of the mobilization was to remove President Artur Bernardes from power, however, once again, the group of lieutenants did not stand out and was defeated, forming the São Paulo column. Soon after leaving São Paulo, the group set off towards the interior of the state, led by Siqueira Campos Juarez Távora.
At the same time, in Rio Grande do Sul, Lieutenant Luiz Carlos Prestes, who disagreed with the political direction of Brazil, led a military offensive in Santo Ângelo, his command went towards the state of Paraná to meet the São Paulo column.
