Why did the Allied leaders met at Yalta and Potsdam conferences?

Yalta Conference (February 1945)

- To coordinate the final Allied offensives against Nazi Germany

- Create the United Nations

- Agree on the postwar boundaries of Europe and Asia

- Soviet expansion into Eastern Europe

Potsdam Conference (July-August 1945)

- To make decisions about the postwar occupation and reconstruction of Germany and Europe

- To issue an ultimatum to Japan to surrender or face total destruction
