Name three things that Charlemagne did top unify his kingdom?

Charlemagne, the king who ruled the Franks from 768 to 814, unified his kingdom in several ways. He:

* Promoted Christianity: Charlemagne was a strong believer in Christianity, and he used his power to spread it throughout his kingdom. He built churches, monasteries, and schools, and he sent missionaries to convert the people of conquered territories.

* Expanded his territory: Charlemagne expanded his kingdom through a series of military campaigns. He conquered the Lombards in 774, the Saxons in 785, and the Bavarians in 788. By the end of his reign, his kingdom included much of what is now France, Germany, Italy, and Austria.

* Established a strong government: Charlemagne established a strong centralized government to rule his kingdom. He divided his kingdom into provinces, each of which was ruled by a count. He also created a system of laws that applied to all of his people.
