History of Europe

Who invented the euro?

The euro was not invented by a single person, but rather developed through a collaborative effort involving various economic experts, government officials, and financial institutions over a period of years. The concept of a single European currency dates back to the 1960s, and the idea gained momentum in the 1990s as part of the Maastricht Treaty, which aimed to create a single European market and strengthen economic integration among European Union (EU) member states.
