Why did Germany attempt to isolate France through the Triple Alliance fail?

The statement that Germany attempted to isolate France through the Triple Alliance is not correct. In fact, the Triple Alliance was a defensive alliance between Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy, and was not formed with the intention of isolating France. The Triple Alliance was created in response to the Franco-Prussian War and the unification of Germany, and was designed to protect the interests of the three countries in case of war.
