How did the people of Paris greet American soldiers in world war 1?

With cheers and jubilation. Parisians lined the streets and showered them with flowers and kisses of gratitude during parades throughout the city when United States troops began marching.

When US Soldiers marched onto the Champ-Elysees for a parade there was an outpouring of enthusiasm, Parisians lined the boulevards waving the new combined colours of France & America whilst cheering their liberators on with heartfelt cries of 'Vive L' Amerique!'
