What was the Soviet solution which eventually thwrated by Kennedy administration?

The Soviet solution that was eventually thwarted by the Kennedy administration was the placement of nuclear missiles in Cuba, known as the Cuban Missile Crisis. The Soviet Union had secretly installed nuclear missiles in Cuba, just 90 miles from the United States, in response to the United States' deployment of nuclear missiles in Turkey and Italy. President John F. Kennedy responded by imposing a naval blockade on Cuba and threatening military action if the missiles were not removed. After several tense days of negotiations, the Soviet Union agreed to remove the missiles in exchange for a promise from the United States not to invade Cuba and a secret agreement to remove U.S. missiles from Turkey.
