What is keine in German?

The word "keine" in German is an indefinite pronoun that means "none" or "no". It can be used to negate a singular or plural noun, and it must be placed directly before the noun it is negating.

For example:

- Ich habe keine Zeit. (I have no time.)

- Es gibt keine Äpfel im Laden. (There are no apples in the store.)

- Ich kenne keine Deutschen. (I don't know any Germans.)

"Keine" can also be used to negate a verb, in which case it must be placed directly before the verb it is negating.

For example:

- Ich kann nicht schwimmen. (I can't swim.)

- Er will nicht essen. (He doesn't want to eat.)

- Sie müssen nicht arbeiten. (They don't have to work.)

In some cases, "keine" can be combined with other words to form a negative compound noun. For example, "kein Interesse" means "no interest" and "keine Lust" means "no desire".
