How wide were roman bridges?

The width of Roman bridges varied depending on their purpose and location.

- Smaller bridges, such as those used for foot traffic or pack animals, might be only a few feet wide

- Larger bridges, such as those used for military campaigns or heavy trade, could be several

feet wide.

- The Pons Mulvius, located outside of Rome on the Via Flaminia, for example,

had a width of about 8 feet (2.4 meters),

- while the famous Ponte Sant'Angelo in Rome had a width of about 28 feet (8.5 meters).
