In a new program of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) all the great ancient Greeks who were born in Asia Minor are recorded as "Turks", regardless of whether Turkey did not exist, at that time, even in the sick fantasy of the responsible.
MIT's Project Pantheon aims to create a historical database by collecting biographical information on major historical figures.
But the Pantheon database mentions the great Homer, the father of the great monuments of world literature (Iliad, Odyssey), the father of history Herodotus, but also the philosophers and polyscientists Thales and Heraclitus, the philosopher Diogenes, as born in Turkey!
On the other hand, Kemal Atatürk is recorded as born in Greece, as is Nazim Hikmet. But when Kemal was born, a Greek state existed, even if Thessaloniki was not yet a part of it.
While as far as the ancient great Greeks of Ionia are concerned, it is completely inappropriate to connect them with Turkey in any way. The justification put forward by MIT is that the records are made based on the current political map.
But this reasoning is by definition, indulgently, stupid, as by the same logic Hammurabi is Iraqi, as is the Assyrian Ashurbanipal... Perhaps they were both distant relatives of Saddam Hussein...
Thanks to MIT, Turkey is first in the list of great figures born on its "soil", surpassing Greece...
