What is the most valuable american coin?

The Flowing Hair Silver Dollar: $10,016,875

Also known as the “Washington President Dollar,” this unique coin was struck by the U.S. Mint in 1794—the year the Mint opened its doors in Philadelphia. Although the price paid at Heritage Auction’s 2013 Florida United Numismatists sale shattered auction records, the real value of this rare relic is arguably much higher.

The coin is considered to be priceless due to its historical significance, rarity, and beautiful design. Additionally, it is the highest-graded Flowing Hair Silver Dollar still in existence, and one of only three known to survive from its limited minting. Today, the coin proudly rests in the National Numismatic Collection of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.
