What is the value of a 1861 quarter?

The 1861 quarter is part of the Seated Liberty series that circulated from 1838-1891. The Seated Liberty quarter has one of only two designs throughout its entire run, with the Liberty Seated obverse and the traditional heraldic eagle with a wreath on the reverse. These coins were all made in Philadelphia and have many design elements in common with the dime, half dollar, and silver dollar designs of the time. The 1861 quarter has a mintage of 1,065,000 and is made of 90% silver and 10% copper.

In general, the 1861 quarter is worth around $10 in good condition. However, the actual value of a 1861 quarter can vary depending on its condition and rarity. A coin that is in excellent condition and has a higher rarity will likely be worth more than a coin that is in poor condition and is more common.
