Where did the saying home James come from?

"Home James" is not a common phrase. However, there is a well-known phrase "Home, James!" or simply "Home, James" which means "Go back home". It originated in the 1880s from a popular play called "A Runaway Colt" by Hugh Morton. In this play, the character named James often says "Go home, James!" when something goes wrong. The phrase became widely used and is now considered to be a classic example of American slang.
