History of South America

What year did immigration first start?

The term "immigration" is not clearly defined, but evidence suggests that people started moving from one place to another at least as early as the late Cenozoic era (more than 100 million years ago) in response to changing climate conditions.

The earliest known deliberate migrations of humans occurred around two million years ago, when small groups of humans traveled from Africa to Eurasia in search of new territory and resources.
