* National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA): Founded in 1890, NAWSA was the largest and most influential suffrage organization in the United States. It was led by prominent suffragists such as Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Carrie Chapman Catt. NAWSA lobbied for federal suffrage legislation, organized suffrage campaigns in individual states, and supported the ratification of the 19th Amendment.
