History of Oceania

In colonial times what was the buffer colony?

The buffer colony in colonial times was Georgia, which was founded in 1732 as a buffer between the British colonies of South Carolina and Florida, which was then a Spanish colony. Georgia was initially intended to be a place where debtors and other "undesirables" could be sent, but it quickly became a thriving colony. By the time of the American Revolution, Georgia was one of the most prosperous and populous of the thirteen colonies.
